gp -v 

Hi pari-dev,

  the output of 'gp --version' is (relatively) hard to parse. Also gp lacks the
customary '-v' short form.

I'd like 'gp --version' to output the version number (only).
The current behaviour would be obtained by 'gp -v'.

Opinions?
