I had forgotten about this detail. Apparently, in Mac OS X 10.4, Apple has a "readline" conflict. My recollection is that, in 10.4, the BSD library libedit makes use of a "readline.h", which is in /usr/ include.
I believe the only feasible way to handle this is to rename this copy of readline.h so it won't be used in the build.
