The GMP library can sometime use a lot of system stack.
There are several way to avoid the problem, but the simplest is to
increase the system stack size,

Before starting GP from the shell, do:
If your shell is sh-based (bash, ksh, sh, zsh):
ulimit -s 20000
If your shell is csh-based (csh, tcsh):
limit stacksize 20000
