In this case, it looks like whatever the problem is, it's not yours 
(and it appears to have been fixed between 2.0.17 (beta) and 2.2.8 
(development CHANGES-1.981).  At least, all three examples complete 
without error (correctness requires a bit of thought :-}).

Try updating to the latest (stable) release.
