Comparing bezoutres and polresultant

Hello all,
 
 
 I am surprised to see that in PARI-GP the polresultant function has three arguments : the two polynomials and the variable (which is right and logical), while bezoutres has only two arguments (which in my opinion is bad and illogical).
 
 
  Is there a simple way to create a âthree-argumentâ version of bezoutres where you can specify the variable ?
