About ten years ago, I attended a conference in either Luminy or the
Dolomites, on a topic that overlaps with numerical analysis, where I
met a charming woman by the surname of Karatsuba, who was seated at
the same table during the conference dinner. It turned out that she
was Anatoly Karatsuba's daughter, a mathematician in her own right and
working in much the same area.
